SUNDAY 7/12 Update - I hit the Target on the other side of town after Church today and dollar spot is moving fast BUT the 90% off kids clothing is thrown in on other clearance racks look for the HOLIDAY blue price tags - the cashier was amazed when I picked up 3 more boys tops and a girls skort for .39 - .49 cents each.

Olay - many clearance items with $3 and $2 Target peelie coupons on the package combine with the $1 off in today's paper and the $20 mail in rebate on $50 purchase to really score a lot of product - Remember the $50 MIR total is BEFORE coupons.

I hit Target today to see what was available for 75% off in the Dollar spot and 90% off 4th of July holiday clearance - the dollar spot at my store still has tons of merchandise left. It's signed 50% off so it may fly once it gets signed correctly

Here is what I purchased to give you an idea of what you may find -

In addtion to what you see there are summer themed dish towels, temporary tatoos, reusable lunch bags, toddler 4th of July socks, character dishware, craft ribbon, travel size lotions, bathtub foam letter sets, kids puzzle books, post it notes in flower power and 4th of July themes, dog toys, dog and cat collars, frisbees, permanent markers, magnetic refrigerator lists in summer and holiday themes, "Summer Camp" themed merchandise - postcard sets, stationary, stickers, summer journals, girls' hair accessories, jewlry and much more. Selection will vary greatly by store.

I purchased 50 items for $12.50 in the Dollar spot and spent another $2.61 on 90% off 4th of July items- I'm really excited about the .49 cents boy's clothes since those can be worn immediately.  It is key to limit what you buy to only items you have a plan for because it's tempting to get out of control.

• Watercolor paintsets - 12345 and shapes available - I got 10 paintsets and 10 packs of brushes for the Operation Christmas boxes I will be assembling now is the best time to start collecting items with all the great penny and free school supplies. I picked up two extra sets of the brushes for my kids craft box.
• Paintbrush sets - note the watercolors don't come with brushes
• Tinkerbelle fairy elastic hair bands - this was the only fairy themed merchandise I saw at my store but there was more in this "dot" collection
• Wolverine stickers and temporary tatoos - there were other superhero items as part of this collection including The Hulk - other merchandise I did not get includes Ice Packs, more stickers, coloring books and pencils.
• Craft Foam shapes - not the self stick kind these need to be glued
• Iron on Tshirt Transfers - hearts and butterfly
• Flower shaped lip gloss
• Build your own bracelet and necklace kits  3 pieces in each kit includes scoop and funnel to get beads or other items into the plastic forms.
• 4th of July Bubbles necklaces - dollar spot merchandise does not always follow the seasonal schedule since it's coded differently
• Patriotic button set
• paper plates and napkins

I am using these items for next year's 4th of July / Wolverine items go in my 4 year old son's stocking stuffer stash, the paint sets and brushes are for Operation Christmas boxes and the craft items and lip gloss are forming the theme for my 7 year old daughter's birthday party in September. We'll have a girly craft party I will be able to pick up beads to fill the necklaces with a 50% off coupon from Michael's or Joann's and get inexpensive t'shirts or totes for the Iron ons. Then the items we create and the lipgloss will be the take home favors. Since each bracelet and necklace kit makes three, I spent only $1.50 ( 3 of each) to make enough crafts for 8 guests and the party girl.
