Best Buy Scenarios for the Catalina Deal with the lower limit on coupons it will be a challange to get to $50 for a low out of pocket expense and while I found Scott 4 packs of towels last week at 2 for $11 the sale is over and they are now at $8.99  but it's a great deal if you're buying diapers.

Getting Paid to Smell Nice Scenario

  • Buy 4 Axe shampoo / conditioner at $4.99 each = $19.96
  • Buy 4 Dove ultra deodarant at $3.99 each = $15.96
  • Buy any 2 freebie items w/ remaining 2 coupons to reach 10 coupon limit

Total Before coupons for Dove & Axe = $35.92 - (4) $2 Axe coupon doubled - $15.96 (4) Dove coupons doubled = $3.96 + tax

Get back a $7 Catalina for $35 in qualifying products = $3 profit

Diaper Stock ups -

HUGGIES

  • Buy 2 Huggies jumbos overnights  $9.99= $19.98 use (2 ) $2 off doubled = $11.98
  • Buy 4 Little Swimmers at $7.99 = 31.96  use (4  )$1.50 off one = 19.96
  • You have 4 coupons left in the 10 limit to buy 4 freebies

Total before coupons is $51.94 (for the diapers plus any additional free items) Use the $5 off $50 = $46.94 - $20 in diaper coupons doubled = $26.94 at the register and get back a $14 Catalina fro the Huggies = $12.94 net.

PAMPERS

  • Buy 4 Pampers cruisers diapers  9.99 = 39-96 use  (4) $2  doubled off from 7/5 P & G insert = 23.96
  • Buy  1 Pampers wipes 2.99 use .50 cents off from 7/5 P & G = $1.99
  • You have 5 coupons left in the 10 limit to buy 5 freebie / cheap items and get your total up over $50 before coupons
  • For this scenario I'm assuming you buy (4) Del monte fruit chillers at $1.99 and 1 Lipton tea at $1.09 free after coupons listed above

Total Before coupons = $52 + tax use $5 off $50 = $47 - $17 Pampers coupons = $30 - $9.05 for Chillers and Tea = $20.95
Get Back a $10 off your next order from P & G ( remember it can't be used until 7/15) = $10.95 net

Assuming all the non diaper items are free hand over trhe $14 Catalina first followed by you manufacturer coupons you'll pay only tax for this transaction.

NEW KMART STORE COUPONS - tearpads out in stores will not double but stack with manufacturer coupons that do

valid 6/28 - 7/31

I rolled my $14 cat into the P&G spend $40, get $10 coupon
written by Give Me Neither, 09 July, 2009
I had a great shopping trip yesterday to Kmart, buying P&G products. If I had only bought the Procter & Gamble products, I would have spent only $1.50 plus tax after using my $14 cat, but I added additional items to the transaction. My total oop was $8.48 and I received the $10 coupon to use between 7/15-7/31. Here's my post about it. http://givemeneither.blogspot....nario.html
I hope it helpssmilies/smiley.gif

Hi I just wanted to say thank you! This has been the best site for the kmart double coupons! And it is really great that you highlighted all the catalina items! So thank you!
I have a question too...Can you please tell me how you get these for free?
•Wrigley's Gum $1 use Buy one get one free from 6/28 Smart Source get 2 Free thanks Cari
•Sobe Life Water $1 use buy one get one free HERE = 2 free

If you buy 1 and pay the $1 then get one free aren't you still paying $1? Or am I missing out on how to do it right?

Thank you so much!
Does Kmart accept expired coupons?
written by Jake Martin, 08 July, 2009
I'm wondering if anyone can tell me if Kmart accepts expired coupons. My $2 off A1 Steaksauce coupon is expired, but I know that some stores have a policy of accepting expired coupons. I called my local Kmart store and the person who answered told me that they don't accept expired coupons, but I'm wondering if she really knew what she was talking about.
Other Cat printouts
written by Chuck, 08 July, 2009
I've ran to Kmart quite a few times the past few days and could offer the following... The 2/$4 kraft is a good deal use the $1.50 off 2 makes it $1 and when you buy 2, you get a $1 cat off your next purchase. Talked to the cashier and he said the $1 cats ring up as coupons and double...so buy mac and cheese get $1 profit.

Also, I've been doing the "Spend $10 of frozen food, get $3 off a $10 purchase". Now I'll use those fantastic Milk Bone cats I've been getting (or other free items) and spend $3 on whatever I want.

Buy $50 worth of groceries get a $2 off meat, $2 off seafood and $2 off produce purchases over $5. These will be good for the $3 off $10 coupons.

And the coupons double no matter what. Our AD came out today (4636smilies/cool.gif and states up to 25 coupons again.

I'm so glad to hear you called and got satisfaction and that you didn't let it go because $14 is a significant number and keep in mind although you won't have it to roll for this promo which is a bummer you may have it for the next doubles and be able to really stretch it.
Called Catalina
written by Melissa Hunter, 07 July, 2009
Just called and they said the coupon printed, but I don't recall seeing anything else that the cashier didn't give me so by $14 will be coming in the mail. Was hoping to roll it in to this week's shopping but at least I'll have it later. Thanks Laina for posting the phone number. My husband just told me to let it go last night, but I was upset that I missed out.
$14 CAT with $12.60 oop or better
written by Give Me Neither, 07 July, 2009
I was able to get the $14 cat spending 12.60 oop. And yes, you can use the $5/$50 coupon and still get the CAT deal. It would have been even better if I hadn't used the my Dove deodorant coupons last time around. I posted my deal on my blog. I hope it helps others out. http://givemeneither.blogspot....p-two.html

TRIX - I have gotten the Cat using these coupons and you can see posts from shoppers all over the country on coupon forums who also have. The coupon use not printing Cat deal is nonsense. Call Catalina at the # referenced above.

Hollie - Thanks for 1) recognizing great employees so often in couponing discussions it's the other issue and if you have time email Kmart. I was in Retail mgmt. for many many years and it's very rare and special to get customer compliments. 2) thanks for letting us all know so we can be on the lookout.
Kudos to great Kmart employees!

I just wanted to let you know that the last couple of month's i've been doing the Catalina deals and double coupon weeks at the Citrus Heights & Rocklin Kmart's. I have discovered the VERY BEST cashiers! These two women have made my life A LOT easier (and are just really fun & cool) They are Laura at the CH store and Margaret at the Rocklin store. I just wish all the employees were as understanding, patient, consistent and kind as these supper women are!

Can anyone confirm that I will receive the $14 Cat when I use the $5 off $50 KMart and other manu. coupons on participating promotional items. A friend told me that she did not receive her Cat and CS told her she didn't receive it b/c she used the $5 off $50.
Response to Ponds question
written by Sheila, 07 July, 2009
The Ponds Towelettes 15 ct are on sale for $3, can use the newspaper insert from a few weeks ago for $1-pay $1. The 30 ct towelettes are from 5.99-6.19, the $1.50 internet printable is good for 30 ct. So you'd have to pay ~$3.

To get the $14 Catalina you must buy $50 worth of the Qualifying products and not a penny less - os if you spent $54 before copuons things like the Renu and J & J were not part of the qualifiers.

Might want to add that the listerine also says it can be used to purchase other items like reach toothbrushes and reach floss both of which would be free

written by merizza, 07 July, 2009
hi, i didn't have enough coupons for the qualifying cat products. But I did receive a $3 cat back at the end of my $54 transaction. My question is... to get the $14 cat there has to be 4 of a kind of a qualifying highlighted product or all the products have to be unilever and kimberly clark? I'm sorry I got confused, I bought one unilever product a dove bar and the rest were kimberly clark brands like kotex and scott. the rest of the brands were nature's source, purex, jonhnson & johnson, and renu. Please help me get a $14 cat, I usually don't have 4 coupons for one product. thank you ^_^

I just bought $57 worth of Unilever/KC/SC Johnson product and didn't get the $14 coupon at the register. A couple of coupons printed so I figured I had it, but when I looked at them they were $5 coupons due to me signing up with my email address at the register. Does anyone know where I can find out why they didn't print?

Hi, I know there is a 10 coupon limit, but I went to the Kmart in Lodi yesterday, and the checker just kept scanning all my coupons and it took them ALL. I had about 15 or so,and I didn't realize there was a limit. I had a great checker. Just an F.Y.I.
Scott towels
written by Sheila, 06 July, 2009
Just a note on the towels. I bought a regular 8 pack for 6.99 (2.99 w/ the doubled q). I think it's still a good deal and was a high dollar amount toward my $14 catalina.
BUT I highly recommend having a lot of backups toward your Unilever Cat deal, my store was sold out of All, Whisk and Snuggle which I was counting on! So keep a lot of backup scenarios to avoid wandering the store for an hour.
Scotts Paper Towels
written by Marci_, 06 July, 2009
Yes, the Scott 4 packs listed on the coupon are indeed 8.99. But there are other Scott paper towels that are cheaper and the coupon works for them. But it may be a YMMV situation. I had to rearrange some things for my first shopping trip and didn't do as well as I had hoped!
Free Smart Water
written by Cari Soldan, 06 July, 2009
Forgive me if this has been posted, I did not see it.
Smart Water is 10/$10 at Kmart this week and the 6/28 SS has a q for $1/2 doubled makes these another freebie.

You will have to rework your scenario. I had to do it in the store this morning because the towels aren't 2/$11.00. I don't shop in California but 4/$8.99 seems to be the overall price. I don't think you will find a different price at any other store, others may have though. May I suggest looking for some other Scott coupons and perhaps buying toilet paper instead. It is more out of pocket for the towels not being 2/$11.00 but there isn't anything else you can do but to rework your scenario. Hope this helps. smilies/sad.gif

Listerine/Reach
written by Barbara Barrett, 03 July, 2009
So just to clarify, Listerine and Reach are Johnson and Johnson. Is this the same as S.C. Johnson? So the Listerine and Reach products all count toward the catalina? Just double checking because I don't wee it highlighted. Thanks.smilies/smiley.gif
does someone know how much is the Reach floss at K-Mart?
written by Saishap, 03 July, 2009
the $2 IP Q for listerine is also good for Reach floss but I don't know how much it cost at K-Mart. I heard that at most places the floss costs $2 which will make them free without doubling and it's a Johnson&Johnson products so if you have 4, it adds up to get the $14 CAT with free items.
Just an idea.

I assume for the Scott reward you are talking about the coupon offer on their site? not the Cat Deal

Yes that's what I meant smilies/smiley.gif, so I don't want to confuse everyone.
Scott Reward too good to be true :(

I was hoping on that and actually when you read the reward they mentioned that you have to buy 4 DIFFERENT products.
Also I finally found the $2 Printable Axe coupon smilies/smiley.gif

I assume for the Scott reward you are talking about the coupon offer on their site? not the Cat Deal

Hi all! Just a heads up for those of you using catalinas next week. MY Kmart would not let me use my catalina on items I had already applied a coupon to. For instance if you buy the 2 Huggies diapers and other items you are using a coupon for the machine may beep when you try to pay w/your catalina. If you are lucky you can get a manager override to accept the catalina, BUT the catalina states not to be used w/other offers. I had a manager override my first one because she didn't read the catalina, but my 2nd catalina, not so lucky. It will beep if every item you bought has a coupon attached. This is in Illinois, it may be different for your store, but just something to be aware of in case it happens to you!! Thanks!!

replies to K and Kris regarding Catalinas
written by Laina, 03 July, 2009
Kris - my understanding at Kmart is that a catalina is considered a "store coupon" by their register system and you can only use one per transaction BUT I have not personally tried to use more than one- I was not allowed to use the $5 /$50 and a Catalina together.

K- Listerine is an SC Johnson product so yes ALL Listerine products count toward the deal and see the coupons.com post today for info. on the coupon reset for $2 off ANY product and print away.
Question
written by k, 03 July, 2009
I checked out the lists for the catalinas. However, i don't see listerine on those lists. Is it part of the catalina deal? Can it only be listerine defense or can it be any listerine? Thanks!

1. my bad math not yours fixed thanks.
2. you don't have to add 8 items in scenario 2 my point is you will qualify for the min. $25 purchase w/ the Huggies using only 2 coupons and be able to use the remaining 8 allowed coupons to get items for free or super cheap which is what most of us hope to get out of these events. you may or may not buy whatever you wish it won't change the deal except if you buy enough of the CAT qualifiers to get a $off coupon back.
3. I have been compiling the price list over the last few doubles events from in store scouting, online forum lists, circulars and monthly sales books. Many prices are the regular price and remain from list to list, some are sale and when new coupons come out or old one expire the list is updated accordingly. There are no doubt many more deals to be had but it really helps to have a list so you're not wandering the store for hours w/ your coupon stash.

I forgot this 10 limit coupons, they really do their best to make it hard on us but I'm amazed that even though you managed to create a scenario that allows you to use their $5 coupon plus the maxi 10 double coupon, thumbs up for you smilies/smiley.gif
I have a few questions, in your scenario I found $4.63 after the $5/$50 coupon and not $2.63, wonder where is my miscalculation. Also I was wondering why do we have to add 8 free items for the second scenario?
And my last question is how can you have a scenario ready, how can you find the prices? do you go to the store before?
thanks a lot for your hard work.

Thank you Laina for the info... and thanks for the list!!! just another question.. so if I purchase more of 50 dollars that are on the list I will get the catalina coupon now can I purchase another 50 dollars that are on the list use my 14 dollar catalina coupon and would I get another catalina??? Does that make sense??? I guess my question is can you keep on rollin over this catalina coupons?? thanks!!

Catalina is actually a marketing company that administers promotions the coupon you get can vary in it's value in this case it is a cash for your next order coupon up to $14 back on a $50 (beforecoupons) purchase see the glossary for more details.

Lou thanks for pointing out I neglected to include the Catalina promo details this time around I have updated the post and included links to our full listing of products by Family - see Start Here for more. The purchase requirements are also there you can buy ANY items from these major brand families which include Dove, Ponds, AXE, Vaseline, Huggies, Scott, Viva, Windex, Raid, FAntastic, Glade, Ziploc and many more.

Question
written by Lou, 03 July, 2009
First of all thank you for all the great tips!! I love it!! but I have a question... I know what a catalina coupon is but how do I find out which products will give me a catalina coupon??? and is there an amount that needs to be purchased in order to get the catalina coupon at Kmart... (the $14)... I see you have to buy $50 but can it be $50 worth of Scott paper towels?? am I totally confusing you LOL!!

Thanks - I was writing this VERY late last night and began w/ just the first 2 items and then figured out the better scenario and forgot to reword. So I have updated sorry for the confusion but it's an awesome scenario so I hope you enjoy.
Question
written by Barbara Barrett, 02 July, 2009
It looks like under your best buy scenarios for the catalina deal that you are already at $50.83. It says add $3.00 more to get to $50. So this would mean you could use your $5.00 off $50.00 coupon, then your regular coupons, then get your $14.00 catalina with the exact scenario above which is what I'm going to duplicate on Sunday. Correct? Just want to make sure I'm not missing something. Thanks so much for posting these!!
